believer? in what? in who?

This is what I believe. This is why I say that I am a believer, forgiven, redeemed, and accepted. But, don't just take my word for it ... look it up. There are links below to help you on your journey to faith.

God has always existed - the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit - three yet somehow one. They created everything. Everything.

The first couple, Adam and Eve, had a perfect relationship with God and each other. They walked and talked freely with God all the time. And they always got along well with each other and the animals and earth that God created for their pleasure. No toil, no hard work, just peace and enjoyment in the home God made for them. (Genesis, chapters 1 and 2)

Then the Devil, in the form of the serpent, tempted them to disobey God. They chose to do what he encouraged them to do – we call that sin - and the consequences of that choice resulted in separation from God – physically and spiritually. (Genesis, chapter 3)

If we were left to die a physical death in our human state of sin, we’d be eternally separated from God. In our physical lives, we were also separated from that intimate conversation and relationship with Godthat Adam and Eve had enjoyed. We (humankind) chose to be disobedient, to do our own thing, to go our own way. And, frankly, that never works out very well.

But, as my niece would say, here’s the deal - even from the very beginning, God had a plan:Jesus Christ, the Son, would become God/Man. (John 1:1-5; John 3:16-18; and Luke, chapters 1 and 2)

A little more than 2000 years ago Jesus was born to a young girl who had a love for God – in the Bible she’s called the virgin Mary. Jesus lived a sinless life; He was tempted to sin – to disobey the Father – but He didn’t do it. At about age 33, after three years of teaching people about His Father, the leaders of that time had had enough. They decided that He was a liar and ordered that He be crucified on the cross. Jesus made a choice. He decided to die so that we could once again have the opportunity to have an intimate and personal relationship with God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He shed His blood to pay the penalty for our disobedience - our sin. He was buried in a borrowed tomb. And,just as He promised, He rose again, fully alive on the third day after He died. (John, chapters 13-20)

As a result of what Jesus Christ did for us, eternal and abundant life with God is available as a gift - free for the asking. To accept this offer, talk to God and admit you are a sinner and cannot save yourself; believe and trust that Jesus Christ alone paid for your sin; and receive His total payment and forgiveness for your sin. (Romans 3:23 and 6:22-23 and 5:8)

Receiving this gift of mercy and grace will make you part of God's family – we call it the Church. The Holy Spirit will now live in you - for good. And He will teach you, prompt you, and help you as you walk through life. (Romans 10:9-13)

So, you’ve said “yes” to the free gift. Now what?

You get involved in a local Bible-believing and Bible-teaching church. You go public - get baptized. By yielding control of your life to the Lord Jesus Christ until He returns, the Holy Spirit would begin to help you grow up spiritually through Bible study, prayer, worship, loving and serving God and others, and participating in the Lord's Supper to remember His sacrifice. The ultimate goal we have as we live out our faith is to learn to follow Christ so that we can lead others to Him and teach them to follow Him as well – we become disciples making disciples. The result - our whole lives become about bringing glory to the God of the Universe!

All of this is in theBible. The Bible is absolute truth - the Word of God. We know it is true because we are lavishly loved by the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
